I was tasked with developing a new line of hydroponic grow trays that utilized a more effiecent method of producing the tooling.  Typical tooling for high quantity runs of vacuum formed products utilize cast aluminum tooling which is quite expensive.  The challenge was to create a new way of producing aluminum tooling that wasn't as expensive.  The solution, water jet cutting flat sheets of aluminum that interlocked and welded togthere.
